My Gap party – born to be awesome

By: Jessica B.

I’m interrupting this blog post to tell everyone that there is a giveaway alert at the bottom of this post!

Now back to our normal programming.

I don’t want to toot my own horn (too much) but I know how to throw a party. I feel that I am a beyond excellent hostess because I can’t cook, so I overcompensate in other areas party-related.

So when Brand About Town asked me to throw a party for my bloggy and non bloggy friends around Gap’s new Born to Fit jeans, as part of my Brand Enthusiast role, I did not hesitate. Party? Jeans? Friends? SOLD.

And I did just that Friday night before I left on mini vacation. I had 20 of my closest bloggy and IRL friends together at my apartment (yes, it was snug) and we had good conversation, food (pot luck style), drink and played America’s Next Top Model trying on Gap jeans.

Here are some pictures from the party:

This is another example of why I have awesome friends because even if they’re meeting someone for the first time, they mix and mingle so well together. They were even great about sharing sizes so others could try on different styles (including Always Skinny, Real Straight and Sexy Boot), so we created a nice “Reserved” list so those who got first dibs could still take the jeans they wanted home. And those who didn’t take a pair home, they got a coupon and an adorable Gap bag. Yeah, it was seriously cute.

Oh and I’m not even lying, one partygoer (who will remain nameless) was super excited because the jeans she wore over had holes in them! For real. I think I forced her to try a pair on. So the party was fun and helpful!

I tried on the Always Skinny and Real Straight styles and I have to say, both fit pretty well, considering I’m short, have big hips and calves and fuller legs. I was pleasantly surprised that those fits looked good on me and fit pretty well too.

But I’ll always be a boot cut girl :)

What jeans style(s) are your favorite?

Giveaway! Check out my review blog for a Gap giveaway I’m doing too! You could win a coupon for…free jeans!

So fun! I love that you hosted this party, and that it was such a success.

Personally, I’m a big boot cut fan. They don’t drag the ground, so I can wear them during football season without worrying about them getting soaked in the grass. They’re fabulous!

You have super-motivated me to go to the Gap and use that coupon from BlogHer. I’ve been putting it off a little because I do hate the mall where our closest Gap is located, but it’s on now.

Probably shouldn’t take 20 friends though.

Glad you had such a kickass time!

I think that was my FAVORITE part about my Nintendo party was mixing my different groups of girlfriends. I had three of my fave Minneapolis bloggers come to the party, my roommates, some college girlfriends, and some old coworkers. Everyone mixed and mingled fabulously and it just made me so happy to have so many important women in my life in the same place! Glad you had fun… now onto your review blog! :)

Looks like a fun party! I love hosting even though we don’t have a ton of space. It’s such a great excuse to buy cupcakes.

You’ve blogged about two of my favorite things in the last few days: parties and shoes! I’m a fan of the flare or trouser fit jeans. I’m really working up the courage to try on a skinny pair and after this post, I might have to take the plunge.

I’m having my party this weekend and I’m so excited. I already wore my straight leg jeans and I love them!

Looks like you guys had a blast! Wish I could have been there. Those jeans look nice…I’ll definitely have to check them out. I desperately need new jeans. I’m all about boot cuts and (slight) flares.

Hope you’re having fun on vacation. We definitely have to go to Bobtail when you get back. Only a few weeks left until I move home. Bummer.
