When it comes to friends I am usually so anxious about being late that I’m early, but when it comes to family, I’m almost always late, despite every effort to be on time!

I am just the opposite… I am late for everything. Friends and my boyfriend and my family have simply come to expect it. If you want me there at 3:15, tell me 3. It’s how it goes, lol.

I actually think people are late more now *because* they have cell phones… as though it makes it somehow justifiable to make me sit for 20 minutes because you sent me a text. I just think being able to tell people they may be late makes people less concerned about making sure it doesn’t happen!

I’m usually on time.

And I hate waiting for people who are late. I give ‘em 15 minutes and then I leave.

i am pretty much always on time or early, it’s been ingrained in me since childhood (thank you mom). and i totally agree though that if anyone is every running late they should at least text or call, i always do that because i hate making people wait for me.

i am OBSESSED with being on time everywhere. I always arrive WAY too early, but I just don’t want to risk being late.
Growing up it was drummed into me by my mum that you are NEVER rude in social situations and you shouldn’t disrespect someone by not communicating or turning up late (one could say it is a self centred way of acting – the world doesn’t revolve around you!) constantly.
Of course, I have been late before but I’ve always let someone know and the reason has usually not been my fault.
I always apologise even if the other person doesn’t care.

I’m always early… except to work. Some days I’m late for work :)

I can’t stand when people don’t call or text me to say they are running late. So rude.

personally I’m always early for pretty much
everything. It’s a nervous thing I think.

But I’m also probably the only person on the planet without a cell phone so if I’m running late I can’t even call.

I am the same way! I hate being late and making people wait for me, I think it is so rude and disrespectful. I have many friends who could care less about being on time, and like your friends it’s generally not for good reason.

When it comes down to it, it’s very hard to justify being continually late; because is what they are (people who are continually late) actually saying, is that I value my time more than yours. As far, as I’m concerned no one’s time is more valuable than anyone elses.

The only thing I’m 5-10 minutes late for is work :-) Otherwise I’m super early or freaking out. I don’t mind if people are 5 minutes late, but later than that and I start to get irritated and antsy.

I hate to admit I’m usually about 5 minutes late for everything that I do. Everyone in my family is like this and it’s kind of a running joke among us. We just take our sweet time.

But when I need to be on time I am…for interviews, appointments, and such. And if I’m meeting with a friend and will be any more than a few minutes late I send a text or call.

Sometimes I honestly try to be on time and I’m STILL five minutes late. It’s like the forces of nature keep me from being on time.

I HATE when people are late. There’s just no reason to be late multiple times when you know you’ve got a problem with it. I know I must sound really mean, but it’s just a pet peeve of mine. I always leave early so I can be wherever I’m going on time.

I’m always always ALWAYS freakishly early or on time. Even when I purposely try not to be early, I still end up arriving as such.

I just think showing up late is incredibly rude and inconsiderate.

But I’m surrounded by friends and family members who are the complete opposite, so thankfully, I do have my trusty BB to keep me company.

I’m always early, or right on time. But like you, I have a bff that is always late. It drives me nuts. And yes, I do feel terrible if I’m ever late and leaving a friend waiting. It’s the worst.

I’m usually running late :( The only place I make it early to is the gym and that’s so I can get weights and a yoga mat to put in my favorite spot for working out in. Other than that, I’m so used to most of my friends being 5 minutes late too so I just plan based on that.

OMG, I effing HATE that tardy for the party song … one more reason I hate the Real Housewives of Atlanta!

I am always early for everything, to the point that even when I think I’m running late, I end up being on time or one or two minutes early. My husband is late for life and has always been terrible about calling to let someone know he’s running late. In fact, we just had a “discussion” about that on Friday. :)

I guess I’m an offender here, judging by the rest of your comments. I’m usually late, but I’m usually late by less than five minutes. I try so hard to be on time, but something often goes wrong because I’m always trying to do too much. I am pretty good about getting to set-in-stone appointments on time. On time, but never early. Time management and I have never been friends.

At the same time, when I have to wait on someone because they’re later than I, it doesn’t really bother me. I always have my iPhone or a magazine with me, so I can pass the time if I need to.

I would beg of everyone who hates lateness to try not to let it bother you too much when it’s just a few minutes.** I assure you the offender doesn’t mean anything personally by it, nor does she value her time more than yours. Time management just isn’t her forte.

**Something like 30 minutes late is inexcusable, however. That’s more than bad time management.

I’m always 5 – 10 minutes late, and I *HATE* it. But I have a ton of trouble getting out on time. My Dad’s like this too, it’s totally learned behaviour, but I’m always trying to get better =)

If I’m meeting one friend or a small group of friends or meeting somewhere that involves a reservation, I’m always on time. Always. If it’s a party that’s lasting hours, I won’t likely show up right on time, but I’m also not that person waltzing in as everyone else is leaving.

I have one of those friends who is always running late. I’ve never told her to meet 15 minutes earlier than planned, because I’m usually not that smart. Just recently, I accidentally forgot to tell her we changed the time of a gathering to be 30 minutes later than the initial plan. Guess what? She showed up right on time and accused me of doing it on purpose. It was actually quite funny.
