TV shows I’m (not) loving right now

The Olympics are on now and a lot of my shows are on hiatus. So I thought it was a perfect time to post about the shows I’m loving right now and those that are on the fence to be removed from my DVR.

Seriously, my DVR cannot handle the amount of shows I watch right now. Hot mess.

Let’s take a closer look.

Love:

  • Life Unexpected (CW) – Yeah it’s kind of hammy but it’s a really cute show and it makes me want to visit Portland stat
  • Good Wife (CBS) – This is one of my new favorite shows. Juliana Margulis is great and I love that Mr. Big and Chicago are featured in it!
  • Lost (ABC) – OMG I love this show. I’ve watched since the beginning and I’m dying to see how it ends. Plus, I have a big crush on Sawyer and Jack. Rawr
  • Damages (FX) - This is another show I really love. I’m confused for most of the season but then it starts to come together and it’s really explosive. Glenn Close is great and this season’s topic (a Ponzi scheme) should be really good!
  • Parks & Recreation (NBC) – I don’t have a lot of love for NBC (due to CoCo drama) but the second season of this show is really growing on me. Amy Poehler is hilarious and Aziz Ansani cracks me up. Plus, it makes me really want my own DJ Roomba. YES!

On the fence:

  • Bachelor  (ABC) – I love a train wreck just as much as the next person but the 120 minutes of non-stop backstabbing and drama? Kill me. Plus, I really CANNOT stand Vienna. Yet, I keep watching. FAIL
  • 30 Rock (NBC) - When it’s hot, it’s hot but lately, the humor has been falling a little flat. Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin still make me laugh but sometimes, it’s just too over the top
  • Grey’s Anatomy (ABC) – Yawwwwwnnnnnnn. Wait, is this show still on? I used to really like this show and it has great season finales but every episode leading up to that is a marathon in nausea
  • Nip/Tuck (FX) – I cannot wait for this show to be over. The last three episode are dragging! I used to love it for being so provocative but it jumped the shark about two years ago and I’m bored of the metaphors about inner vs. outer beauty. I GET IT

I love the Olympics but I’m ready for my regular shows to come back too. Hello, 90210, Gossip Girl and Melrose Place, I miss you! Plus, I’m ready for Top Chef again soon. Can’t wait.

What shows are you loving or on the fence about lately?

  2. Water Cooler says:

i would always be a fan of Nip/Tuck, i was saddened about the episode when one of the doctors got breast cancer .-*

  3. Edward Young says:

i love the storyline of Nip/Tuck both actors seem to have a very complicated life’~~

  4. Nathan Lee says:

we like to watch Samantha Who because the characters in that tv program are really funny and cute.;`’

  5. Nip/Tuck has some great drama too in the story, the women in this tv series are gorgeous too eventhough most of them are mature-”,

  6. Samantha Who and Big Bang Theory are two of my favorite TV programs to watch.“’

  7. Nip Tuck is a unique TV Series just like House MD..;~

  8. E.P. says:

I have been watching SO MUCH TV recently that it’s absolutely ridiculous! And I’m adoring Life Unexpected, too. Maybe too much.

  9. Wonderful says:

I’ve stopped watching Grey’s Anatomy, because it’s just not the same anymore. I also think this season’s Bachelor is just soooo scripted and cheesy, I can’t watch it. If anything, I have a lot more free time.

  10. Lys says:

i don’t watch any tv. i stick with my futurama on a regular basis. lately though, i have been watching all the old episodes of CSI las vegas and J has started watching a nerdy comedy version of CSI called Castle. that’s it though, nothing new, we don’t like tv that much.

  11. Mega says:

The Office and 24 have jumped the shark for me. 24 just needs to end, period. I think The Office has the potential of becoming funny again if they revitalize the focus on shenanigans between Jim and Dwight. And Creed, that guy is awesome. NBA playoffs, Glee, and baseball are coming soon, which makes me excited.

  12. I’m obsessed with True Blood and the Office. True Blood season 3 doesn’t return until this summer, so I’ve just been biding my time with other shows I like not as much…like all the reality shows on Bravo and all the HGTV buying/selling/decorating home shows.

  13. Oliviawz29 says:

I do not guess that each student all over the world has a passion of analysis essay creating! Nevertheless, students ,which don’t like writing should take help of distinguished custom writing service and be happy with a result.

  14. Nora says:

I rarely watch Prime Time TV. Isn’t that sad? When i do watch tv, I love Big Bang Theory. LOVE. Other than that, Rescue Me and Sons of Anarchy on FX but I forget to watch them lately. Kind of pathetic I guess.

  15. I could not agree with you more on your “on the fence list.” all of those shows are just…off.

and parks&rec? seriously that show makes my entire thursday nights. my favorite episode so far was the hunting episode. HILARIOUS.

and Modern Family is on my LOVE! list.

  16. Lindsey says:

I love Life Unexpected. I don’t care that it’s super cheesy, I’m addicted.

I agree with Gray’s too. I stopped watching it regularly about 2 seasons ago, and completely stopped last year. Just not into it anymore.

I also love One Tree Hill (been watching since day 1) and The Biggest Loser!

  17. tmc says:

I’m liking The Closer and Dirty Jobs.

I’m totally over most of the competitive shows on Food Network. Disney cakes? Chocolate towers? I’d rather see some vintage Molto Mario or Iron Chef.

  18. Lil' Woman says:

I’m probably pathetic but one of my favorite shows right now beside HIMYM and The Office is The Secret Life of an American Teenager. I can’t turn away from the teen preggo angst and drama.

  19. Rachel says:

Nip/tuck jumped the shark when they had the Build A Bear killer. But yes I still watch it.

  20. Allison says:

the bachelor needs a new platform already. the bimbos are eventually going to die off, right?

THAT many of them can’t be THAT interesting to garner their own reality show, although, we know that’s the real reason they are on the show to begin with.

  21. hillary says:

Aziz Ansani makes my heart happy :)

  22. lbluca77 says:

Life Unexpected is really cute I think. I removed 30 Rock from my Tivo before it started this season. It just was not as funny as it once was.

  23. Jen says:

I am a huge LOST fan. I am really liking the this season and am so curious as to where it is going.

Also, I sort of like The Forgotten on after LOST. I always liked Christian Slater.

Psych, Burn Notice, White Collar, all on USA, are good shows.

I was recently introduced to the Halogen cable channel and this crazy Canadian show, Food Jammers. I am addicted.

  24. nic says:

I’ve been doing a bit of the same as well. Cleaned out all the shows that are on hiatus from my “season pass” and prepped for the new ones starting in March. Gossip Girl of course! But also Kendra (I know- it’s a guilty pleasure) and I just added this terribly funny and TERRIBLE show called Madhouse which is just…there are no words. It’s every southern cliche and it warms my heart.

When does Top Chef come back? I heard they’re doing another Top Chef Masters too.

  25. I don’t watch a lot of TV … the only one I’m missing is “Biggest Loser”.

  26. I don’t watch a lot of those shows, but I can pipe in a little. I though last weeks 30 Rock was so funny I’ve made Josh watch it 10 times already. I’m laughing now just thinking about it.

And I’m a Sayid girl myself. Mmmmm, Sayid.

  27. Lizzie says:

I love Life Unexpected, but I’m not sure whether they’ll renew it… hope so! Lost, of course, is my favourite but I have nooo idea what the heck is going on!

Greys Anatomy and Nip/Tuck have really lost their edge for me – will miss them if they go, but y’need to end on a high!

  28. LOVE LOST. Love it. My favorite show. I also still watch Grey’s. I have faith that it’ll get better again. Maybe. I LOVE Castle though. That show is awesome. I really miss The Office, though.

I will always watch 30 Rock so long as Toofer is on it. He’s a friend of mine. Parks and Rec is OKAY. I gave up on Heroes long ago.

I just wish Dollhouse wasn’t cancelled. I loved that show. And I cried for like a day over the finale.

  29. I love White Collar, Project Runway, The Amazing Race and Millionaire Matchmaker. I’m pretty much not in love with anything that’s 30 minutes and a comedy. I suck.

  30. Andhari says:

I’m loving Vampire Diaries and Chuck soooo much right now! It’s crazy.

The Salvatore brothers in Vampire Diaries are more than drool-worthy and I really like how the story develops. And as for Chuck, the show just got a whole lot better since Brandon Routh joined to be a special agent. HOT.

  31. Okay so I don’t have a TV.

    I KNOW RIGHT??

  32. Maki says:

“LOST” – check! Did I tell you I’ve seen the real Locke on the North Shore in Hawaii when I used to live there? Twice! And he looked so much Hotter than seeing him on TV – he looked so much younger and dressed great:)

The Bachelor has always been one of my favorite to watch, but this season, I’m So disappointed in Jake that I stopped wathcing it.

I think I am going to start watching Good Wife.

  33. Heidi Renée says:

I had to axe Survivor this season. I had too much happening on Thursdays. The nicely-groomed hotties on Bones and Flash Forward totally beat out grubby people in saggy underwear. That and my DVR can only record two things at a time.

  34. Bing says:

I am loving The Vampire Diaries and am so angry that it’s on hiatus until the end of March. Major boo.

I love No Reservations, Law & Order SVU, Locked Up Abroad…I’m sure there are more but I’m drawing a blank.

I’m anxious to see Parenthood after the Olympics end. The commercials are cracking me up so I’m hoping the show will be awesome.

  35. Susan says:

I cannot WAIT to find out what happens in Lost.

  36. Addict says:

I am NOT loving how ABC cancelled Samantha Who? and Pushing Daisies. Good shows should not die :-(

What I AM loving is what ABC has attempted to fix our relationship with. Modern Family is a great 30 min comedy and it is followed by Courtney Cox’s Cougar Town. “Comedy Wednesday” as they call it COULD HAVE been perfect with Christina Applegate.

  37. Ronnica says:

I have really enjoyed some episodes of Parks and Recreation, but haven’t watched any lately. I agree about 30 Rock…can be SUPER funny, but not feeling the last few episodes.

  38. Erin says:

Oh man, by the time I work out and make (and eat!) dinner it’s all I can do to watch one or two episodes of Jeopardy. Or Dirty Jobs. Or The First 48. And I really want Mythbusters to start showing new episodes.

    Uh…yeah. I’m a nerd.

  39. jenn says:

LOVE LOST! Gave up on the Bachelor about 5 seasons ago. I just couldn’t stand to watch another “MOST dramatic rose ceremony EVER.”

Grey’s has totally been lacking lately, but I’m glad Izzie is gone. She drives me nuts.

  40. A Super Girl says:

I will never give up on The Bachelor, though I’m with you (and the rest of the world) on the whole Vienna. I also sort of agree with you on Grey’s Anatomy, though I will always make room for it.

I still love Private Practice as well. And American Idol is an easy watch. Otherwise, I’m finding my biggest issue is remembering what’s on when and then watching it. That’s why most new shows just don’t end up on my radar anymore, which is sad because I’ve heard there are a ton of good ones!

  41. orange sugar says:

I’ve been on the fence about Lost for awhile now. But I’ve been watching from the beginning and since it’s the last season, waiting to see if we will get any answers.

Love Vampire Diaries and Castle. And awaiting Gossip Girl to return.
