Shopping for spring!

Today was an amazing spring-like day in Chicago. And I don’t know about you, but I’m excited for spring to stay around. The Uggs have been put away for the season and I’m looking forward to warmer temperatures. But my toes are in need of desperate TLC. I have to work on that.

I’m still scared to go in my closet and weed out what doesn’t fit or I haven’t worn in a bit, so while I’m playing the avoidance game there, I’m looking ahead to what I do want to be buying this spring (in moderation.) I feel like my taste in clothes and style changes yearly or evolves so I try to manage what I WANT and what I NEED to replace.

I’ve scoured online and my fashion magazines and below is my list what what I have my eye on to be welcomed in to my home, and closet this spring.

Stripes! Tough for me to wear (thanks to my bosom and hips) but I love this look because it’s casual but put together. Okay, I’d probably replace the khakis with jeans but that’s just me

Sparkly shoes (I must have these TOMS)

Big, bold rings (fab! And I love turquoise)

Messenger bags (difficult with big boobs but still functional)

Bright colors! (I cannot wear orange but I love the bold print and I got this Hot Pop Pink color from Shellac on my nails at the Beauty Show over the weekend. Obsessed)

Wedges! Perfect for the petite girl that is awkward in heels

Yes, all of these are on my shopping list. What about you? What are you shopping for this spring? Any big weekend plans?

Update 3/17: Review of Revlon’s CustomEye eyeshadows on the review blog!

On my list, some striped sweaters (found the perfect one at Banana), a trench and some new sandals like the ones you selected too

  2. Grace says:

I love everything you chose. The purse is especially cute and that orange dress! I also may buy my first pair of Tom’s for a wedding I am attending this spring. It’s in the mountains and I have to wear closed toe shoes so I figure some sparkly toms will be perfect!

  3. Lil Woman says:

I can’t wait to shop for spring but I need a pedicure before my tootsies see the light of day

  4. Leah says:

Thanks for the reminder to put away my uggs (I have the short ones from LL Bean). So far I’ve done really well preparing for spring. While in LA for work I got a shirt and tank from American Apparel (the one next to Malibu–it’s on the edge of a cliff so a cool store). I also got some organic cotton stuff made in the US that was on sale (a denim skirt and another tank). And…I said goodbye to winter in the best way possible–a pair of cords on sale from JCrew for $19 and with free shipping. :)

  5. I LOVE that orange dress!!

And YES, I am so excited for spring!!! :) :)

  6. Nora says:

I’m in LOVE with all things stripes lately. I don’t know what my deal is, but I can’t get enough of them. Especially of the navy + white variety…

Also, I’ve seen the sparkly Toms in various places and OMG. Must have.

Otherwise, I’m looking for more long flowy dressys, some comfortable skirts and um, yeah, I think that’s it. Since I’ll be all working from home in a few months, I definitely will need cute + comfy yet not too drab clothes to work in!

  7. i am all about the brights and stripes! i love the yellow dress here :)

  8. Erin says:

    That messenger bag is killer!

I totally feel you on the constantly changing style. Hard on the wallet!

  9. I’m not shopping for anything in particular. Maybe a new outfit for when Jason returns.

I love those TOMS! Do you already have a pair, how are you liking them? I am a huge, huge fan of bright colors and big, bold rings. I have a few rings that go from knuckle to knuckle — one in turquoise and one in carved mother of pearl. They are fabulous! I feel your pain in the area of stripes and cross body bags. Big boobs and those things just don’t go together. Can’t wait to see what you pull together!
