JB’s Life List

Tagged: Random

Recently, I started helping a coworker plan her honeymoon to Italy and it got me thinking. While I’m Chicago-bound until spring (when the next set of adventures begin), revisiting my big Italy try made me ponder about my bigger plan and the things I want to do, see, experience before I die.

Morbid? No. Inspirational. The Life List is not anything new, Maggie Mason started it at Mighty Girl and it’s inspired many others to create one too.

So I decided to sit down and take a start at my own list. This is not finished and will continue to grow as I am inspired by more things and by people in my life. And in writing this, I realized Maggie, as well as other blogger’s lists have inspired mine.

So here we go in no particular order or preference.

JB’s Life List

  • Walk on the Great Wall of China
  • Hike a glacier and volcano (separately)
  • Sleep in a tree house hotel
  • Zip line
  • See the rain forest
  • Run a race (starting w/a 5K)
  • Learn how to dance
  • Have something I wrote published
  • Go skinny dipping
  • See the Northern Lights
  • Drive from LA to Portland
  • Speak French
  • Wear a bikini to the beach
  • Leave someone a $50 tip
  • Teach a class
  • Host a dinner party
  • Go camping (not glamping)
  • Live in Europe for 30 days
  • Be a movie extra
  • Go on safari
  • See the Taj Mahal
  • Learn to drive stick shift
  • See the pyramids
  • Take my dad on vacation
  • Visit at least one place on every continent

What about you? Is there anything on your Life List?

  1. Loving your list, lady, and definitely wanting to pen one of my own sometime soon so I can set out goals and then figure out a way to plan my adventures. :)

On mine would include bringing W to Cortona (my Italian town) and walking him up the hill, hand-in-hand, see the pyramids and drive the California coastline… among other things, I’m sure.

  2. nora says:

I love the creativity on this list! I’d love to be kissed by the Eiffel Tower, visit (heck, start!) a vineyard in Italy, go to Alaska a la Northern Exposure (as in, not do glamorous Alaska), take a cooking class, start my own book of recipes for my family/future kids or family members, and start my own charity.

Wishing you and yours a Merry Christmas!!

  3. LWLH says:

I would love to do even half these things!

  4. katelin says:

oh these are great ones, i keep going back and forth on zip lining. my fear of heights is weird sometimes, ha.

  5. Marjolein says:

This is a fantastic idea! I’m not sure what would be on my list. I guess I checked off some points already in the past two years with traveling to Italy, to the US (visiting Ellis Island), and buying a home.

  6. Joanne M. says:

Great list! I highly recommend Volcano National Park on the island of Hawaii!

  7. suki says:

I don’t have a set list per se, but there are plenty of things I’d love to do if given the chance. :-)

  8. I love it! Since my own life list is so travel-centric, I totally approve of yours :) I love the concept in general — not so much a bucket list, but something to motivate you to live.
