Sharing the same boob vision

By: Jessica B.

If you’ve met me in real life or seen photos of me, you know that I have a set of knockers.

Yes, I mean boobs.

It’s hereditary and my genes gave with two hands of tissue to create mine. Lucky me.

My small-chested friends say they’re jealous but really the grass isn’t greener on the other side.

More boobs, more problems.

One of these problems includes finding supportive bras and, well even just fitting in some clothes. Some button down shirts make me look like I’m “hulking” out of them in the chest.

So, in talking to a fellow big chested friend, I decided it was time to invest in some new undergarments but was very clear about how I would survive this horrific shopping experience.

“I need to find someone with the same boob vision as me.”

Basically, this means finding a saleswoman who is also big chested so we’re speaking the same language.

I went to a fitting once at Nordstrom with a small chested woman and she literally said, “I don’t know what to do with you.”

They’re boobs dear, not grenades.

Then, a friend told me about another store in Chicago that specializes in fittings for women sizes A-N. Clearly, this caters to women who may also feel insecure about their chests, like I do.

The fitting took about an hour and the woman listened to my irrational insecurities and issues and then came back with a few to try on. She even complimented me on my “voluminous” chest. Well, thank you.

Finding bras when you’re full chested is not the sexiest feeling. Especially when you see magazine photos of women who look great in them, but it never translates to your chest.

That said, I found one that worked for me. Sure, it was expensive but if I’m going to keep this chest, I need to feel good about it, and this helped me feel that way.

Boobs are expensive yo, but finding someone who shares your boob vision is priceless.

Cleanin’ out my closet

By: Jessica B.
Tagged: shopping

I can admit that I have some…hoarding tendencies. I’m not buried in stale food or cat carcases (GROSS) but when it comes to my closet, I tend to hold on to things.

And not even for sentimental value. It’s because I’m a) too lazy and b) think I’ll wear it again. What if I NEED this one shirt and I’ve donated it?? So I hold on to it and thus, my wall of closet is completely jammed with stuff. Half of which I don’t even wear.

So while dabbling with a bout of insomnia, I got tired of staring at my full closet, wondering how much stuff I don’t wear. Then, I got up and started grabbing clothes.

What was left was two huge piles of clothes. One to donate and one of clothes to try on again before donating.

Fortunately, I found several items in the “try on again” pile that I forgot about and hope/plan to wear now that it’s getting warmer, but if not, they go in the donate pile right away.

But as good as it felt to donate stuff, the realization hit that I don’t have a lot to wear now. So, I guess I have to slowly start replenishing the closet.

Who wants to go shopping with me? I am actually pretty bad at shopping for myself.

Is anyone else cleaning out the closet for spring?

Things I bought that I love

Lately, I’ve tried to pare back on the shopping but I thought I would share some of my recent indulgences because I’m loving what I bought!

Europe Touring MapThese Are Things

My first purchase from Fab.com. I’m obsessed with transit and traditional city maps and I love the clean, bright look of this. They have some for Paris and London too but I love Rome :) Isn’t it adorable??

Knit Hat in Plum – Nordstrom

I love trying on hats (even the ridiculous one) and when I put this on in plum, TC was emphatic that I buy it. And I’m so glad I did because I love it and wear it all of the time. It provides no warmth or wind protection, but it looks adorable. Here’s a picture of it on me.

Cherry Corn Flower BiscottiĀ

In fall, a cute Italian bakery opened by my house and I am obsessed with its biscotti. It is light, not too crumbly or dry and the cherries inside are sweet without being overpowering. I could eat this like chips, but probably shouldn’t.

Oh and I was going to share a photo but I ate the biscotti before I could. Clearly, I have zero self control.

Gap Lace-Trim Gown

I love sleeping in night gowns, sleep sets, anything that is thin and comfortable. So, a few months ago when a few things were different, I bought a Lace-Trim Gown from Gap Body because I knew my boobs would fill it. Finally, these boobs are a blessing!!

It is so comfortable, light and easy to sleep and move in. It’s really flattering on the curves, and yeah it’s sexy.

This weekend I’m hitting the shops again and hopefully, I find a few more things I love too. So far, my track record is solid.

Any big weekend plans? What have you bought lately that you love?

New online obsessions

By: Jessica B.
Tagged: Random, shopping

I can admit that I spend a lot of time online or on my phone.

And lately, where is what is keeping me in front my screen (both phone and computer) more:

I blame Twitter and my super chic friends for getting me hooked on Fab. I’ve only purchased some chocolate sea salt caramels and a print now but I have a huge “wish list” of things I would like to buy. Journals that look like Legos? YES. Prints of Chicago El stations? YES. Turkish-inspired jewelry and earrings that look like a butterfly wing? YES PLEASE.

Seriously, I am going to be so poor because of this site.

And Pinterest. I joined, pinned several things and then promptly stopped using it. It’s so easy to pin things and I have no idea why I took a break. But over the last week, I am back and on this site A LOT. Clothes, shoes, apartment inspiration and my absolute favorite, guy/girl celeb crushes. I am a pinning machine.

Now, I have to limit myself to viewing/pinning each day because otherwise, you will never see me again.

Speaking of which, it’s almost my dedicated Pinterest time, let’s see what everyone is sharing today.

What keeps you on the computer more than it should?

Holiday wish list!

By: Jessica B.
Tagged: shopping

I LOVE gift giving. I may be biased but I think I’m also an excellent gift giver.

But I’m not great at making at giving gift ideas for myself. I have a tendency to just buy whatever I need/want and have a hard time putting that in to a list for others. This is a very frustrating process.

So after much thoughts, online searching and auditing of my apartment, below are the items I hope Santa brings me this year

Echo Tech gloves – I definitely need these to use my phone in winter without losing a finger from the cold

Canon S95 camera – I still use a point-and-shoot a lot when I travel and I badly need a nice one!

Cuisinart Immersion Blender – Love the color and need one for my baking and cooking adventures!

Fresh gift set – I am obsessed with this Brown Sugar scrub and lip gloss. Let’s dress it up

Money for Paris – Yes, trips are expensive, I could use any help I can get :)

Frye Melissa Button boots – I blame TC for getting me in to these but the color is to die for! And fits my man calves

Yep, that’s all on my list this year! I’ve also noticed that my holiday gift list ideas get super boring now that I’m an adult. One year, I asked for stamps and a vacuum cleaner. I was beyond excited when I got both. It’s the little things right?

What’s on your “wish list” this year?
